Learn simple strategies for building healthy eating habits, including age-appropriate meal and snack ideas, guidance on toddler portion sizes, and tips for encouraging positive relationships with food. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions and get practical advice to support your toddler’s nutritional needs.
Stop by when it fits your schedule, come with your questions and leave with ideas you can put into practice at home!
Children ages 4 and under can enjoy playing in the Tree House Indoor Playground, while you participate.

Kids Construction
Workshop
Thursday, September 24
5:30-7:00 PM
Portage Lake District Library - Community Room
58 Huron Street, Houghton, MI 49931
Get ready to build, create, and have some fun! Join us at the Portage Lake District Library for a FREE hands-on adventure where kids can learn new skills, work with tools, and express their creativity.
Guided by a parent or caregiver, kids will follow simple steps to build their own wooden project—with fun options like an excavator, keepsake box, penguin mailbox, or leprechaun trap. Once built, they can make it uniquely theirs using colorful paint!
Best of all, every builder gets to take their finished creation home to display.
Special thanks to Home Depot for providing the craft kits and to Harbor Freight for donating the tools that make this event possible!
No advance registration required.
Designed for families with young children & their siblings.
